Food vendors: AHS + the 80/20 rule
Alberta Approved Farmers' Markets must keep an annual average of at least 80% Alberta vendors selling products they (or family/staff/cooperative members) made, baked, or grew. Up to 20% may be resellers, out-of-province vendors, or complementary commercial products. That rule is about the market mix — not the share of items on your own table.
Food and agricultural vendors need food-safety training recognized by Alberta Health Services. Approved markets hold an umbrella food permit that lets home-prepared foods be sold there — still your job to complete training and follow labelling rules.
